Lymm Angling Club: Roberts nets a huge rudd haul

WITH the mild weather continuing it finally looks like we’re over the winter and good catch reports are coming in across all waters.

Liam Roberts had a superb session on Woodside Pool float and he managed to end the day with 25 rudd and five roach fishing the lift method using maggots.

Mike Whewell landed a 9lbs 10ozs 0drs common at Milton Brook on bottom bait with a small PVA bag attached, which tempted a beautiful common in great condition.

Mark Smith had his first session as a Lymm AC member on Founders Pool and managed to end the session with a pristine 11-0-0 common.

Mark’s tactic was to use a small PVA bag of 12mm boilies to match his hook bait.

This seemed too good to resist and was awoken at approximately 11.45pm with a decent take and his first Lymm fish in his net.

The next work party dates are March 17 and 25, and April 15.

Registration has opened for the introduction to angling course as part of 2012 spring series.

This is a four-session beginner course for boys and girls aged eight to 16.

There are two groups each session and participants must be able to attend all four sessions.

All events are led by qualified and licensed angling coaches.

The climax to the winter series will be held on March 25, at Micklewrights Pool.

This year’s annual general meeting will be held at Rudheath Social Club on Monday, March 26, at 8pm.
