WOOLSTON Rovers A drew two points clear at the top of North West Counties Division Four following a tense draw with promotion rivals Leigh East A.
Two tries from Danny Brown, converted by Rutter, and one from Lloyd Feather handed Rovers a 16-10 advantage at the break.
Leigh finished strongly in the second half, scoring two tries with 10 minutes to go to leave Woolston trailing by two, but Rutter converted a late penalty from in front of the posts to rescue a draw.
