Crosfields 14 Bradford Dudley Hill 16

A LAST-GASP penalty denied Crosfields a share of the spoils on Saturday despite a second-half comeback.

Trailing 14-4 at the break, Soap had done well to fight back and level the game late on, but Tony Williams’ kick for the visitors ensured they left Hood Lane with maximum points.

The hosts had started well and took the lead when Jack Reid’s chip to the corner caused problems for the visitors, allowing Keiron Thomas to walk in a simple try.

Crosfields held the lead for most of the half, but a crazy 10-minute period before the break saw them put firmly on the back foot.Anthony Huby, Neil Wall and Williams all crossed before the break to put Bradford in command.

However, Soap rallied after the break and Reid dummied his way over before adding the conversion himself to bring his side to within a score of the lead.

Nathan Taylor capitalised on a loose ball to kick on and score in the corner to level the scores with 10 minutes to play.

However, Williams landed the crucial blow when Soap were penalised for a ball steal.

Mark Brennan’s side, now winless in seven games, travel to Salford City Roosters on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
