Clock Face Miners 22 Woolston Rovers 24

WOOLSTON Rovers returned to winning ways on Saturday as they ground out a narrow victory over Clock Face Miners.

Ryan Brown pinched the ball one-on-one to opened the scoring for Rovers before Luke Leyden levelled the scores for the hosts.

Penalties from Jack Highcock and Callum Topping gave Clock a 10-6 lead at the break.

Lewis Hoarty crossed on the right for Rovers, with Glyn Roberts’ extras taking them back in front.

Rovers’ advantage was extended when Hoarty raced clear and found Roberts in support to go in between the posts.

Leyden raced home from 90 metres to give Clock hope, but Hoarty’s second try restored Rovers’ two-score lead.

Luke Forber’s converted score set up a nervy finish, but Rovers held on for victory.
