LATCHFORD Giants’ under 15s are celebrating after winning the North West Counties league title in their age group.

Opponents and neighbours Woolston Rovers conceded their last game, giving Latchford an 18-0 victory and the league crown.

BILLY Cannon crossed for four tries as Giants secured a play-off place, with Tom Ditchfield and Matt Guy grabbing a try each and Tom Earps adding three goals.

DESPITE five tries from Joe Paul Hannon and four from Oliver Orgill, Latchford lost out in a high-scoring game. Jacob Taylor and Joel Williams also crossed for a try each.

RYLANDS Sharks juniors had a successful weekend as two of their age group teams scooped silverware.

The under 12s picked up the NWC Cup after beating Saddleworth Rangers 28-0 in the final, while the under 14s claimed the Division One title after an 18-6 victory over Pilkington Recs.
