CROSFIELDS head coach Mark Brennan has urged his side to put last week’s defeat to Wigan St Judes behind them ahead of Saturday’s trip to Drighlington, kick off 2.30pm.

Both teams were promoted from National Conference League Division Three last year and Soap have handled the step up noticeably better.

Despite the 31-16 defeat on Saturday, they are still top of the league while their Bradford-based opposition are second-bottom having won only two of their seven games this season.

However, Brennan insists his players will focus only on themselves.

“We will go again on what will be a tough game away at Drig this week,” he said.

“We won’t be worrying about them. This week is all about us and what we need to do.

“Sometimes we just need to roll our sleves up and do the hard work and earn the right to play a little more.”

Victory will see Soap maintain their position at the league’s summit, but another defeat would open the door for Oulton Raiders, East Leeds and Thornhill Trojans to overtake them.
