CROSFIELDS boss Mark Brennan says a good start will be key for his side as they welcome Wigan St Judes to Hood Lane on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.

Soap sit atop the National Conference League Division Two with six wins from their seven league games.

Their past two victories, against Askam and Thornhill Trojans, have required them to come back from 14-point deficits and Brennan says his side cannot afford to give St Judes the luxury of a good start on Saturday.

“We are looking forward to getting back out on the pitch again after a week off,” he said.

“A week off can be a funny one but I hope it will have served us well allowing a few players to rest up and recover after the tough win away at Askam.

“We will be working hard on getting a good start this week. It’s something that has let us down over the past few games.

“We had to come back from 14 down against Askam and Thornhill at half time and we can’t keep doing that to ourselves.

“Judes will be another tough test for the boys; they have had some good results this year so we will need to be on our game to win.”
