WOOLSTON Rovers head coach John Fieldhouse hopes the short break from games will have done his side some good.

Rovers welcome West Bowling to Monks Sports Club on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm, looking to bounce back from a heavy 34-6 defeat to Dewsbury Moor Maroons in their last National Conference League Division Three outing.

Fieldhouse says his side need to start playing with some consistency if they are to turn their stuttering start to the season around.

“We’ve had a week off, hopefully that will do us good,” he said.

“We need to start playing to our full potential and get some consistency in our play.

“We have showed glimpses at time of what we are capable of but it needs to be for the full eighty minutes of games rather than just in patches.

“West Bowling returned to the NCL at the beginning of the season and have had some very good wins so we know that they will be coming to us full of confidence.”

Meanwhile, Rovers A are also in action this weekend as they travel to Runcorn in the North West Men’s League Division Four.

RYLANDS Sharks head coach Matt Wilson says there is still a lot wrong with his side’s performances despite an unbeaten start to 2017.

Sharks sit stop the National Conference League Division Three after three wins and a draw from their opening four games.

However, Wilson says Saturday’s home game against Stanley Rangers, kick off 2.30pm, is a chance to put some things right.

“It has been a really positive start for us, probably the biggest thing has been our willingness to work hard for each other,” he said.

“We have been far from great in all of our games we still need to work hard to fix up our discipline and the silly errors in our game.

“We have two home games against Stanley and Waterhead over the next fortnight so our focus is on winning those games fixing up some of the problems.”

A double header at Arnold Clark Park sees Rylands A face Westhoughton Lions in an NWML Division Four fixture, kick off 12.30pm.

CROSFIELDS are on the road on Saturday as they travel to Askam, kick off 2.30pm.

Mark Brennan’s side are currently top of the National Conference League Division Two having won five of their first six games.
