Haydock 54 Latchford Albion 30
DESPITE a spirited effort in the second half, Latchford Albion fell to another defeat at Haydock on Saturday.
After a first half in which Albion’s completion rate sat at just 35 per cent, they surrendered a 38-4 half-time lead to the North West Men’s League Premier Division champions, with Danny Brown getting their only try.
However, the visitors were galvanised after the break and ran in five tries to give their hosts a scare.
Brown crossed for his second of the game and other tries came from Joe Clarke, Craig Fleming, Jamie Birchall and Lee Smith, with George Briggs adding three goals.
Albion visit Haresfinch on Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
