LEAGUE games in the North West Men's League start this weekend, with a host of Warrington clubs playing at home.

Bank Quay Bulls will host Bold in Division Two, while in Division Three Crosfields A entertain Rochdale Cobras.

There is a ‘derby’ in Division Four with Culcheth Eagles welcoming Rylands Sharks A as their guests, with Woolston A preparing to face Langworthy Reds at Monk Sports Club.

Latchford Albion travel to Ashton Bears in the Premier Division and Burtonwood Bridge hit the road to tackle Wigan St Cuthberts.

All games kick off at 2.30pm.

Rovers A will open their North West Men's League Division Four account boosted by their 24-18 cup win against Halton Farnworth Hornets A at the weekend.

“We have many of last year's under 18s side in our ranks and coupled with the experienced lads that we have then we are really hopeful of having a good season," said coach Andy Penny.

"We know that Langworthy will come to us hoping to go away with the points but we will be determined for that not to happen.

"The lads have trained really well and we are looking forward to putting in a display that will get us the victory.

"Against Halton I was absolutely delighted with the way that we went about our business.

"We had a bit of disruption to our anticipated side with a couple of lads getting stuck in work but we put that to one side and put in a very good performance.

"We had two 17-year-old lads in the squad and they did extremely well. Our defensive effort was excellent and we took our chances well.”
