LATCHFORD Albion can call on the support of two former Wolves favourites ahead of the new season.

Australian favourites Brent Grose and Nathan Wood have agreed to sponsor one of the club’s junior sides for the 2017 campaign.

Grose was a regular visitor to Victoria Park to watch Albion during his time at The Wire, while Wood had a spell assisting the coaching of the club’s open-age side.

Outside back Grose made 146 appearances in primrose and blue and says he was happy to offer his support to Albion.

“I loved my time in Warrington and whenever I had free time I would pop over to Victoria Park to watch Latchford who made me feel so welcome,” Grose said.

“Seeing the change in facilities has been fantastic and being able to offer any support is my way of repaying the friendship I was offered.”

Wood left Warrington after the 2005 season having played 96 times for the club and was also pleased to help out when he was given the chance.

“When I was involved with coaching the open age the main thing I noticed was the enthusiasm around the place,” he said.

“I learned about the history and heritage of the club and am privileged to offer my help to continue this.”
