Rylands Sharks 64 Waterhead Warriors 0.
RYLANDS moved into the National Conference League Division Three play-off places as they demolished Waterhead at Shark Park.
The result sees them move into fifth place, two points clear of nearest rivals Dewsbury Moor Maroons with a game in hand.
They were in front as early as the first minute when a well-worked move saw Gavin Conroy cross for a try converted by Jack Lewis.
The Oldham-based visitors managed to get a foothold in the contest and the balance of play was even in the first quarter, but they couldn’t translate that into points as Matt Wilson’s side went on to dominate.
Tyler Whittaker grabbed his first try of the afternoon and this was followed by three tries in eight minutes through Brad McAlpine, Dave Walker and a second for Whittaker.
Lewis converted all the tries to leave the score at 30-0 at the interval, but Rylands didn’t take their foot off the gas in the second period.
Casey Brown grabbed two tries in the space of four minutes before Danny Woods crossed for his first of the game.
Conroy and Woods both grabbed their second tries before Whittaker went one better shortly afterwards to complete his hat-trick.
Lewis, who missed only one conversion attempt all afternoon, rounded off the scoring by adding the extras to Whittaker’s try and complete an excellent attacking display from the Sharks.
They have three games remaining of their season, starting with a home game against Gateshead Storm on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
