Crosfields 54 Waterhead Warriors 6.

JACK Reid was was again the inspiration for Crosfields as they maintained their three-point lead at the top of the National Conference League Division Three by demolishing Waterhead Warriors.

The Soap captain crossed for two tries and kicked nine goals out of nine to ensure his side held their title destiny in their own hands with three games of the season remaining.

After Reid opening the scoring, Ben Mellor crashed over from a Steve Pickersgill offload before Jordan Chilton crossed for the first time this season in a blinding start for the hosts.

Nathan Taylor finished off a slick set move in the corner before John Pickersgill bulldozed over near the posts to make the score 30-0 at the break.

After a flawless first half, Soap would have always struggled to match it in the second period and Waterhead got themselves on the board through Matthew Barran’s score, but not before Joe Clarke had extended Soap’s lead within a minute of the restart and Reid had crossed for the second time.

After Barran’s consolation, Hayden James and Ian Boden both added their names to the scoresheet as Crosfields signalled their intent in fine style.
