MASSIVE numbers turned out for Woolston Rovers on Saturday when more than 100 members took part in the ‘Give Back to your Club’ day.
Players, coaches, committee members, parents and other family members descended on the club to get a list of jobs done.
New posts were fitted on the main pitch while the dugouts and pitch railings were painted, the changing rooms were decorated, with the referee’s room now sporting artificial grass on the floor.
One of the volunteers was club stalwart Keith Gatley, who was amazed by the turnout.
“To see so many people coming together to get these jobs done was brilliant to see. I have never seen as many volunteers all rolling their sleeves up,” he said.
“It just shows the type of people we have at the club.”
