Latchford Albion 42 Wigan St Patricks A 10

LATCHFORD warmed up for their Warrington Cup semi-final clash with Rylands Sharks with a resounding win at Victoria Park Stadium.

The hosts started brightly and took the lead when Joe Clarke scored between the posts after a break from Adam Wood, with Luke Hickman adding the extras.

Dave Yii then ran in an interception try before finishing off Danny Brown’s break to add his second, both converted by Hickman.

Connor Muir dummied his way through for Albion’s fourth try before Hickman got one of his own to give his side a 28-0 lead.

St Pats regrouped and scored a well-worked try to ensure they were on the scoreboard at the interval, but Latchford picked up where they left off in the second half.

Ryan Hickman brushed off three defenders to score before Dave Leventson crossed out wide and Luke Hickman followed up his conversions by taking a great inside ball and finding Craig Woolvine to score, with St Pats adding one more consolation try.

After their cup exploits against their higher-ranked local rivals last night, Wednesday, Albion return to league action with another home game on Saturday, June 25, when they welcome Wigan Spring View to Victoria Park Stadium.
