WOOLSTON Rovers head coach John Fieldhouse says there is more to come from his side despite their blistering recent form.

Rovers currently sit second in the National Conference League Division Three table, three points behind leaders and local rivals Crosfields with a game in hand, after winning their last four games in succession.

After a week off last weekend, the team travel to Wakefield to face Eastmoor Dragons and Fieldhouse had an ominous warning for the rest of the league.

“Over the past few weeks we have put in some excellent showings but there is still plenty to come from us,” he said.

“We have a few new players in our side this year and the more they play with each other the better we will become.

“The week off has allowed a few of our lads to get over some bumps and bruises so we should be raring to go come Saturday.

“We are looking forward to returning to action this week and putting in a good performance.”

ROVERS’ ‘A’ side welcomed back a familiar face but they fell to a 46-22 home defeat to Bold Miners on Saturday.

Warrington Wolves legend Mark Forster, whose son Danny is the team’s player coach, turned out at centre after a long injury lay-off but he could not inspire them to victory.

Tries from Martin Ball and Will Chadwick had them in touch at the interval with the score at 12-10 to the visitors, but Bold streaked away in the second half by running in six tries to seal the game.

Rovers never gave up though and added scores of their own through Dan Fearnley and Will Maudsley, but it was to be a losing effort.

Forster’s men must now pick themselves up for a clash with local rivals Burtonwood Bridge at Monk Sports Club on Saturday, kick off 2:30pm Rovers ‘A’: Duffy; Woodward, Holt, M Forster, Mercer; Maudsley, Chadwick; Leicester, Ball, Potts, Ward, Fearnley, C Brown. Subs: D Brown, Fagan, Ward, Penny.
