WOOLSTON Rovers head coach Jon Fieldhouse is wary of any complacency ahead of this weekend’s trip to winless Gateshead Storm.

While Rovers will be full of confidence following last week’s win over Oldham St Annes, their first of the new season, their hosts have lost both of their games so far after defeats to Eastmoor Dragons and Dewsbury Moor Maroons.

However, Fieldhouse says Rovers will have to be “on their guard” when the sides come face-to-face.

“We have to now continue at Gateshead in the same vein as last week and ensure that we put in a performance that will bring us home the two points,” he said.

“They haven’t had a win so far this year but their displays have been very encouraging from their point of view.

“Last season they gave us a real fright and we must be on our guard to avoid any repeat.”
