Crosfields 50 Castleford Panthers 10

CROSFIELDS marked their first home game of the new season in emphatic style by dismantling Castleford Panthers.

Following up from their derby win over Rylands last time out, Soap ran in nine tries against their helpless opponents to grab their second consecutive win.

After a tight opening period, Keiron Thomas opened the scoring and Crosfields didn’t look back from there, with Matty Barber crossing to add to the scoreline.

Panthers got off the mark through Chris Chapman’s score, but a scintillating Hayden James try followed by another from Joe Moore put the hosts 22-6 up at the break.

It was more of the same after the interval, with Billy Sheen and John Pickersgill crossing in the first 15 minutes of the half before Lewis Bani got his first of the season.

Ryan Martin intercepted to score Panthers’ second try, but Jimmy Rookes and Ash Cornelia completed the scoring to secure a crushing win.
