Latchford Albion 23 Folly Lane 22

A LATE Danny Brown drop goal ensured Latchford Albion made it two wins from two this season against Folly Lane.

Stu Simm and Dave Nunnerley had both scored twice on debut for Albion, but the visitors kept with them until Brown’s late intervention.

Folly Lane had made the stronger start, edging ahead with a converted try before Albion hit back when Simm crossed after good work from Dave Levenston, with Luke Hickman adding the extras.

The hosts led for the first time when Nunnerley raced 30 yards to score next to the posts and make it a simple conversion for Hickman to give Albion a six-point lead.

Nunnerley crossed for his second try before the break but Folly Lane hit back with an unconverted try out side to make the score 16-10 at the break.

A converted try brought the visitors level after a strong start to the second half, but Simm was at it again as he scored a fine individual effort, with Hickman’s conversion restoring Albion’s six-point lead.

However, after Cameron Davies was sin-binned, the visitors crossed to level it up again but good work from the Albion forwards put Brown into drop goal position to win it.
