LATCHFORD Albion made a winning start at their new home when they defeated rivals Bank Quay Bulls 38-12 at the Victoria Park Stadium on Saturday.

Stand off Connor Muir had the honour of scoring Latchford’s first try at the new stadium when he crossed in the opening minutes, going on to complete a hat-trick.

The game was a good contest for both sides and credit must be given to Bank Quay who contributed to a good game of rugby played in the correct spirit.

Albion’s other try scorers were Danny Brown, two, Martin Whitehead and Lewis Wightman with Luke Hickman adding five conversions.

Saturday sees the first game for the second team, when Westhoughton are the visitors for a 2.30pm kick off.
