WOOLSTON Rovers travelled to Leigh East for an A team friendly on Saturday and despite only taking 11 players suffered a narrow 18-14 defeat.
The man of the match for Rovers was loose forward John-Paul Ainsworth, but he was well supported by prop forward Richard Potts.
On Saturday, Rovers take part in a four-team tournament alongside Leigh East, Golborne Parkside and Clock Face Miners.
The games both take place at Leigh East and Rovers will face Golborne Parkside at 1pm and then East will play Clock Face at 3pm.
The following weekend, February 20, the two losing sides will face each other at 1pm with the two winners playing at 3pm.
