Rylands Sharks A 30 Garswood Stags 40

RYLANDS were edged out in a 70-point thriller as both sides played some expansive rugby on Saturday.

Stags opened the scoring early on with the first of three tries for winger Jon Hogarth with scrum half Greg Brown adding the extras.

The visitors scored a further three tries before the break through full back Jack Fedigan, centre Andy Borne and Hogarths second score of the game with Brown converting all three efforts.

Rylands posted two tries of their own from the outstanding Aaron Holiday giving Garswood a 24-8 lead at the turnaround.

The second period saw Rylands up the ante with tries for Liam Lawton, Daryl Smith, Anthony Poole and Sam Brinksman with Hayden Gahgan adding three conversions, but tries from Hogarth, centre Josh Wincott and loose forward Craig Lucas plus a further two conversions from Brown gave Garswood the points.

Best for Rylands were Aaron Holiday, Liam Lawton, Hayden Gahgan and Mal Mason while Jon Hogarth was outstanding for the visitors.
