ROVERS A got back to winning ways in a high scoring North West Men’s League Division Two game to move up to fifth place.

Rovers opened the scoring after two minutes through stand off Ethan Jude but it soon became a nip-and-tuck half.

Shane Duffy went over for three tries, completing his hat-trick by stepping round the full back.

A high kick by Ethan Jude was collected by winger James Rosson, who scored in the right corner to give Rovers a 24-18 half time advantage.

Eight minutes into the second half a high kick Rosson once again leap highest to collect and twist in the tackle to score in the right corner and four minutes later Duffy went over for his fourth try following a fumble by the Panthers.

Further second half tries came from loose forward Jake Upton who crossed twice.

The Man of the Match was Rovers scrum half Will Chadwick, well supported by prop Jack Sherratt, Chris Twigg and centre Duffy.

Rovers ‘A’ coach Mark Robinson said: “We certainly enjoy providing full entertainment lately; we are scoring some brilliant tries.

"We just need to tighten up our defence and that will enable us to control games a lot better.

"We had five players from our Under 18s side playing and they didn’t look out of place. We have a lot of talent in our squad."
