WOOLSTON Rovers head coach Lee Westwood is determined to spoil the Featherstone party ahead of his side’s trip to the unbeaten league leaders in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three on Saturday.

Featherstone have taken maximum points from all 10 games so far this season and Woolston will be looking to be the team to put a stop to their run.

“We know that we will be in for a tough game against the Lions,” said Westwood.

“They have had a perfect start to the season and are still unbeaten but that gives us something to aim for and it would be a great fillip for us if we could be the first team to get something from them this term and that is certainly what we will be looking to do.

“We will work hard in training this week on areas that are a concern and then try and put that into our game on Saturday.”

Rovers go into the game having picked up several injuries in recent weeks but Westwood claims his side will not have any excuses.

“We have been decimated with injuries over the past few weeks but we certainly won’t be using that as it gives other members of our squad a chance to impress,” he added.

Woolston suffered a 26-6 defeat to Blackbrook last Thursday but the team is adamant not to make the same mistakes against the Lions this weekend.
