Woolston Rovers 16
Crosfields 23
CROSFIELDS secured an important win over local rivals Woolston in a game that went to the last minute in the National Conference League Division Three.
Soap took the lead early on through Luke Jones, with Jack Reid converting, before Rovers hit back with a try from Christian Taylor and a touchline conversion from Gavin Bishop, levelling the scores.
A drop goal from Reid just before half time gave Soap a narrow 7-6 lead at the break and Reid was involved again after the restart as Crosfields stretched their advantage with a converted try from the stand off.
Rovers mounted a comeback with two quick tries from Warren Ayres and James Rosson to put the home side 16-13 in front, but Crosfields responded through Luke Jones’ second try.
With everything still to play for in the last minute, Nathan Hamilton sealed the win for Crosfields with a fantastic solo effort.
