LATCHFORD Albion moved to the top of North West Men’s League Division One courtesy of a solid victory against St Pats.

After conceding in the opening minutes, Latchford replied with two tries from Dave Levenson. Sam Dobson converting both.

Levenson went over again to complete his hat-trick after St Pats had reduced the deficit.

Latchford were pegged back once more straight after the break with a converted try.

But touchdowns from Whitehead, Hickman and substitute Damian Lyon took Latchford out of reach, with debutant Chris Joynson adding the extras.

Rylands Sharks 64 Oldham St Annes A 22

RYLANDS posted a comfortable win against Oldham St Annes in North West Men’s League Division Two.

Tries from Dave Walker, Carl Lloyd and Rob Campbell in the opening five minutes, with Pete Leonard converting, made it 18-0 before Oldham clawed back two tries.

Sharks caught Oldham off guard again after the restart with tries from Lewis Litherland, Dane Evans, Sam Hughes, and Matty Taylor, with Leonard converting three.

Two more for Campbell to complete his hat-trick either side of Walker’s second made sure Oldham were truly beaten.

EAGLES ground out a hard-fought win against a tenacious Accrington side in North West Men’s League Division Two.

A drop goal from Ian Pirrie proved to be the decisive point.

First-half tries from James Wilde and Pirrie gave Eagles an 8-6 cushion at the break.

The game was set up for the tense finale after a try from Liam Prescott for Culceth left the teams level.

WOOLSTON Rovers suffered a heavy defeat at Leigh Miners.

Scott Whitely and Jordan Millington went over for Woolston, with Rutter adding the extras.

CROSFIELDS made it three wins on the bounce with an 11-try demolition of Chester.

Soap’s tries came from Luke Jones, three; Jonny Pennell, Phil Bannon and Danny Lee, two each; Keiran Thomas and Craig Lawton, who added conversions along with Andrew Campbell.

RYLANDS suffered defeat at the hands of an experienced Cobras side.

Chris Meacock scored the only Sharks try and added the extras.

Injuries to Mike Ward and Jimmy Harrison left Rylands with few options and Cobras played well for a comfortable victory.
