WARRINGTON pool players are celebrating success in Dublin.

Peter McLoughlin and David McNamara were crowned European Blackball Association Home Nations under 23 doubles champions on Sunday.

The pair, with McLoughlin as captain and McNamara with the best statistics, also helped England B to collective glory after they recovered from 7-2 down to win 13-9 in the final against Scotland.

In the doubles, the Cheshire tandem beat Scottish pair Grant and Michael Polly in the semi finals before seeing off Republic of Ireland duo Glen Dempsey and Graham Mullin in the tournament decider.

Former St Gregory’s High School pupil McLoughlin, aged 21, has been playing in the Warrington League with Bank Quay Social Club for the past three years.

McNamara, 18, has been a regular in the competition for the same period.
