Narrow win for Lymm’s firsts

Lymm 1 Chester 0

LYMM Men’s first team got off to a flyer in their Kukri North West Hockey League Division Two match against Chester, when man of the match Phill Griffiths opened the scoring after just 28 seconds.

Lymm failed to extend their lead and though an injury to Colin Graham and a yellow card to Graeme Rowlands allowed Chester back into the game, it was not enough to rescue the result.

Lymm 2nd 4 Bangor City 2

AN excellent result saw Lymm’s seconds go to fourth in the Kukri North West Hockey League Division Five South table.

Keswick West Cumbria 3rd 1 Lymm 3rd 2

A LONG journey meant that it was a fatigued Lymm side that ground out a win on the road in Cumbria against a youthful Keswick team.

Captain Jonny Ireland scored two penalty flicks either side of half time, while debutant junior goalkeeper Olly Jones won man of the match after making key saves in the second half to help Lymm hold on.

Lymm Badgers 1 Triton Badgers 1

BADGERS held on for a draw in their second game of the season, an Olly Hope strike handing them an early lead until Triton drew level in the final 10 minutes.
