NORTH West Karate Academy’s Zach Scott won Kumite gold in the heavyweight under 21s category at the British International Open Championships in Glasgow.
The former Warrington Young Sports Personality of the Year winner, an instructor at the academy’s Newchurch Parish Hall home, romped to victory.
Clubmates Ben Pinder and Taylor Greenough enjoyed success too, the former winning bronze in the under 10s individual Kata before joining forces with Greenough to secure silver in the mixed pairs Kata.
Rachel Traverse won bronze in the under 12s open weight.
