Roblin ready to make history with British Lions

WARRINGTON cue man Dave Roblin will help make sporting history this weekend.

He is part of a six-strong British Lions squad that heads to Cape Town, in South Africa, on Sunday to take part in the first Eightball Pool test series against the hosts.

“I’m really proud to be representing my home town and also Great Britain,” said the Welsh international.

“I hope my achievement can inspire some of our local youths to tray and make it to county and international level themselves.”

Great Britain has played international matches against their South African counterparts before, but never in a series of matches like this one.

The Lions are also scheduled to visit Malta in January as well as Asia for a tour next Spring.

They play the first of five matches against South Africa, at Valley Pool Academy in Boland Park, next Tuesday The final head-to-head is scheduled for Saturday week.
