DAMIAN Morrison has been crowned top dog in the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association.

The King and Queen crack shot defeated Rob Lawrenson 21-15 in the Player of the Year final at St Oswald’s on Saturday.

Finals day at the Padgate green brought jubilation for Stockton Heath’s John Davies, who beat Victoria’s Stuart McIntyre in the Parks’ Player of the Year showpiece.

St Albans celebrated a double, overhauling Bull’s Head B in the Chadwick Pairs Trophy and Penketh Tavern in the Warwick Lowe Trophy.

In the singles finals of the latter Rob Lawrenson and M Widocks were winners, while C Bradshaw and R Evans won the pairs finale.

There were mixed emotions for Grange Sports Club, who provided both finalists in the 31-up Pairs Cup and the Harry Cross Cup.

John Bradshaw’s side got the better of Peter Rowles’ team in both.

Tetleys’ Scott Brown and Queen’s Kyle Chapman won the junior and youth competition’s respectively.
