Parfitt overcomes terrible weather

SANDRA Parfitt lit up the Waterloo Hotel by winning the consolation competition in her first attempt at the Blackpool Illuminations Bowls Festival.
The Alford Sports bowler defeated Yorkshire’s M Haigh 15-14 in the final’s horrendous weather conditions to win a trophy, money and a set of bowls.
