TWO Warrington drivers competed in the British Automobile Racing Club’s Oulton Park season finale event at the weekend.

Richard Roundell, of Stretton, raced his Vauxhall Vectra in the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Championship.

He began race one in the middle of a thirty-six car grid and was fortunate to avoid a start line accident.

After the race restart, a spin on lap one saw Roundell hit by another competitor, causing heavy damage to the Vectra.

Able to continue with the car seemingly performing better, he recovered to win his class by a clear margin.

In the second race of the day, he finished second in class after a race long battle with his nearest rival.

In the pre-1993 Touring Car Championship race, Stuart Tranter, of Hatton, qualified his Rover Tomcat in 13th place overall and fourth in class.

He was able to make up places after a good start but slipped back to finish eleventh overall and take the final podium position in his class.
