Bowls club starts improved league

WARRINGTON Indoor Long Mat Bowls Club based at Birchwood Leisure and Tennis Club will be starting its second season on Monday.

To meet demand, the competition has been enlarged to comprise four separate leagues - on the afternoons of Monday, Wednesday and Friday as well as a Friday night league.

All leagues will comprise 16 teams bowling on four mats over a 23-week programme.

The club have entered an annual Challenge Cup competition involving clubs based at Wigan, Widnes and Leigh.

One match involving the four clubs will be played at each clubs’ venue on Saturdays alongside the league programmes.
