Davies claims Mike Roach prize

WARRINGTON’S Phil Davies came out on top in the Mike Roach Memorial Bowls competition held at Woolston RBL.

Davies was a worthy winner of the prestigious trophy with a 21-14 success over Darren Plenderleith from the Midlands.

He started the day in fine form, disposing of four-times Waterloo winner Gary Ellis, then adopted Warringtonian Tommy Johnstone and Damian Morrison before beating Plenderleith in the final.

The bowls feast also raised £2,155 for St Rocco’s Hospice.
