Ormskirk too strong for confident Moore

MOORE travelled to South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two rivals Ormskirk full of confidence after winning their previous cup and league game.
But with players missing through injury and holiday, that confidence proved to be short-lived as the visitors gave away a penalty and the Ormskirk number 10 slotted over the easy three points to start the deluge.
Huge gaps in the Moore defence were exploited by the hosts time and time again, and once their only threat, Adam Lester, limped off before half time the visitors lost their only chance to cause any damage to the stonger hosts.
The only chance they had to prevent a nilling was when Dave Johns brilliantly rounded the Ormskirk team from his own 22, only to knock on over the line.
Moore will hope to get their season back on track when they host Isle of Man opponents Douglas on Saturday.

The hosts managed to open the scoring through a Liam Dignam penalty after 15 minutes, but Burnage then started to build an impressive lead, scoring three tries and a penalty to open a 25-3 lead at half time.
Second half tries from Graham Owen, Mark Digby and Tim Worrall gave the hosts some hope in the second half, but Burnage's first half lead was too much to overcome.
