FLATTRACK rider Aidan Collins continued his dominance in round five of the Grand National Championships in Scunthorpe Stadium, securing his third UK championship in the process.

The victory is Collins’ fifth Grand Final win in as many meetings, with the triumph ensuring that the Thelwall rider has now equalled Marco Belli's record of three UK champions titles. The Rock Oil rider grabbed three heat wins and won the first of two semi finals in order to secure his progression into the weekend’s Grand Final race, in which Collins wasted no time in fighting his way to the front after falling behind Tom Woolley on the first bend.

By lap five Collins had started to stretch his lead at the front, meaning that by the time he passed the chequered flag the result was already wrapped up in his favour.

Collins is now going for a clean sweep of Grand Final wins as he prepares for the sixth and final round, but he also has his eye on European success as he prepares to fly out to Misano to contest the Italian championship on September 14 and improve his third-place position in the FIM flattrack World Championships.
