Golden treble for young sprinter

WARRINGTON Athletics Club’s Fisayo Williamson-Taylor was the star of the show at the club’s annual Terry Davies Open Meeting at Victoria Park, landing three gold medals in the under 13 boy’s 100m, 200m and long jump.

More than 200 athletes travelled to Warrrington to participate, and Williamson-Taylor was the pick of the home side's athletes with his triple crown.

He was closely followed by Matt Berwick’s double gold win in both the under 17 men’s 100m and 200m, while other gold medals were won by Leighton Sharman in the under 15s boys’ 3000m, Cameron Meakin in the under 15s boys’ 80m hurdles, Alex Wort in the under 20 men’s shot, Ashley Kirsopp in the under 17s men’s long jump, Sam Evans in the under 11s boys’ 600m and Adam Shaw in the under 11s boys’ cricket ball. Ashley Nemits in the under nines girls’ 600m and long jump was the hosts’ only female winner.
