Thomson gets regional call-up

EILIDH Thomson is the pride of Imagine8 Netball Club this week after she represented North West England at the Tri-Fest Netball Tournament at the Sheffield Institute for Sport on Wednesday.
Thomson is also one of several girls selected from the club’s Cheshire Junior League-winning under 12s side to represent Cheshire in county tournaments, along with teammates Megan Perry and Abbie Smith, with 14-year-old Jazmin Lowe chosen from the under 14s side.
Thomson was one of just 20 girls selected for the North West after winning the under 12’s most improved player of the season award at the Cheshire Netball presentation evening, while Perry went agonisingly close to selection after winning the Coach’s Player of the season prize.
The club is still looking for more girls to join their growing ranks of 85 members acroiss eight squads, with junior training taking place at the club’s base at Vida, William Beaumont High School, on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm for under 10s and 11s and 7pm to 8pm for under 12s to under 16s.
The senior section train on Thursdays at the same venue, from 8pm to 9pm, and new members of all abilities are welcome to join.
