Personal bests tumble in the rain

TERRIBLE weather put some athletes off competing at Warrington Athletics Club’s annual George Edwards Memorial Open meeting in Victoria Park.

In the same age group, Jemma Eyre won the 300m.

Under 13s runner Fisayo Williamson-Taylor recorded a double victory in the 100m and 200m, adding a second-place finish in the long jump, with under 15s athlete Cameron Meakin also recording a double by claiming the 80m hurdles and the long jump.

Other wins were recorded by Sam Evans, under 11s boys’ 600m, Luke Gamble, under 13s boys’ 800m, Kieran Shingler, under 15 boys’ 800m, Melissa Boyer, under 13s girls’ 800m, Hannah Shaw, under 13s girls’ 70m hurdles, Vicky Ramsbottom, under 15s girls’ 1,500m and Nia Higham, under 11 girls’ cricket ball throw.
