LOUISE Blizzard won team gold with Belgrave Harriers in the Virgin London Marathon.

The 36-year-old Warrington mum was the 39th woman to finish overall in 2hrs 58mins 10secs.

Blizzard, a forensic services officer with Cheshire Police who was running the event for the 18th time, said: “I’m so over the moon to break my target of three hours.

“I tried to run a sensible race, going through half way in just under 1 hr 30 mins, so managed to run the second half quicker.

“When it got tough at 23 miles I was determined not to slow down.”

She has accepted an invitation to run in the elite women’s race in the Manchester 10K next month.
