Pendlebury wins twice in Wigan

WARRINGTON Athletics Club returned from the Wigan open meeting with nine gold medals.
Alice Clare won the under 15s girls’ 100m in 13.7secs and finished fourth in the 200m in 28.8secs.
Ashley Kirsopp won the under 17s 100m hurdles in a personal best of 14.1secs.
Fisayo Williamson-Taylor celebrated a double 100 and 200m victory in the under 13s boys’ category, with personal best times of 13.0secs and 26.7secs.
Jemma Eyre won the under 17s girls’ 300m in a personal best of 42.8secs, with Mollie Crewe finishing second in the hurdle event over the same distance with a personal best of 49.1secs.
Robert Dykes celebrated his second win of the week in the 800m, finishing in 2mins 20.0secs.
James Webster won the under 20s 400m hurdles in 57.5secs, with Mark Pendlebury adding the final two wins in the senior men’s shot and discus with throws of 11.93m and 38.52m, respectively.
Richard Park and Dave Tomkins flew the club’s flag at the Whitley 10k road race, finishing 22nd in 37mins 28secs and 105th in 43mins 24secs respectively.
