Warriors win team prize in Stockport

WARRIORS of Warrington returned from the Stockport Metro Level One Gala with a stack of first place finishes, winning the prize for the top visiting club with an impressive points tally of 1021.

Warriors secured 34 first place finishes, 17 seconds and 39 thirds, with Brendan Spencer, Alicia Pierce and David Richardson’s individual performances standing out after they secured new national qualifying times in the 1500m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 100m breaststroke.

David Richardson also won the top spot for the 14-year-old age group BAGCAT award, an amazing 200 points in front of second place.

Richardson continued his domination in the ‘skins’ competition, where he raced through the rounds to the top prize money and was almost emulated by 14-year-old teammate Bethany Young, who was second in the girls’ competition.
