WARRINGTON’S seniors opened their 2012 season with a thrilling 10-10 draw against hosts Chester in the Liverpool and District League.
The visitors ended the first quarter adrift after struggling to adapt to a smaller pool.
But they turned around the score in the next two, fighting back to lead 6-3 at halfway before ending a tight third quarter with a 7-6 lead thanks to outstanding attack from scorer Tom Hadley, four, supported by James Williams, Bryn Edwards and Andy McGinty, two each.
Warrington led by three goals later, but a tiring defence and a surge from the hosts conspired to rob the visitors of their lead.
