WARRINGTON Rowing Club’s Mathilde Tavernier has smashed her own British indoor rowing record for the women’s junior 11-year-old age group.

In a two-minute timed piece on the Concept II rowing machine, she recorded a distance of 522 metres, beating her previous mark by 11m.

The club are set to host their annual Head of the Mersey meeting on Sunday, a 3,600m time trial course over two legs on the Mersey.

This is Warrington Rowing Club’s home event, with the first race starting at 10am and the last of six divisions taking place at 3.30pm.

Spectators should note that the racing takes place upstream from the club boathouse, with first legs starting adjacent to Paddington Bank off Kingsway North and finishing opposite Woolston Community Recycling Centre.
