Lymm stay top, but Warrington lose Lymm stay top, but Warrington lose

LYMM produced another high-scoring performance against hosts Crewe to stay top of Cheshire Women’s Hockey League Division Two.

Dominating play from the off, player-of-the-match Hollie Acklam got the breakthrough and went on to score a first half hat-trick.

With Grace Boardman adding a goal after some excellent right-wing play from Megan Mousdale and Nadeen Roe, Lymm were 4-0 up at half time.

Roe and Grace Boardman added goals in the second half to make it 6-0 and Amy Heywood’s well-martialled defence kept Crewe out for the clean sheet.

n WARRINGTON women’s first team put in a valiant performance with only nine players, but could not avoid defeat at Deeside.

Warrington gave as good as they got for the first half and were unlucky to trail 1-0 at the break.

Player-of-the-match Tracy Jackson was outstanding in goal and Carrie Wright, Heather Peters, Nat Lyons and Sarah Milner were heroic in defence, but as Warrington tired, Deeside were able to push the score up to 5-0.
