GRAHAM Sayer is now a third-dan black belt.
The former Sir Thomas Boteler High School pupil is only the sixth member of Warrington Kickboxing Studio to have been promoted to the grade.
Sayer started training in 2000 and passed his first dan four years later.
He then started competing in Amateur Kickboxing Association bouts, in which he remains undefeated.
During his time in the ring Sayer captured the British, Commonwealth, European and world titles, leading to being crowned Warrington Sports Personality of 2005.
Sayer, aged 30, has recently taken on the challenge of amateur MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) competition.
The new sport requires the highest level of martial arts skills under a mixed rule format that allows kicks, punches, grappling, throws, groundwork and submission holds.
Sayer will be in MMA action in Hereford on May 9.
