WOLVES’ academy stars have made their mark on the international scene in the past week.

Playing in England under 16s’ 38-6 win against France Cadets on Saturday, both Ryan Shaw and Keith Holden scored tries on their debuts.

Shaw, playing on the wing rather than his usual position at centre, touched down twice, using his pace and vision to good effect.

And hooker Holden was also key to England’s victory thanks to his excellent kicking game and tenacious defence. He was rewarded with a try in the final 10 minutes.

Both also starred in the second game of England’s double-header against France on Tuesday night, when another Wolves prospect, winger Vinny Kakopa, scored two tries.

There were also five young Wolves on show in the game between England under 15s and Wales under 16s on Good Friday.

Ben Moores played hooker for England, while Ben Jones, Ben Evans, Rhys Evans and Jason Blackmore all featured for Wales.

Rhys Evans scored an 80-metre try and his brother, Wales skipper Ben, was awarded man of the match.
