A DEDICATED rider from Croft will be taking part in the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham on Wednesday for the third time.
Gabby Davies, aged 18, will be competing against 20 other riders in the ‘mountain and moorland’ category and hopes to beat ninth place, which she secured in 2007.
She will be riding her Welsh pony, Kirkhamgate Mr Cool, also known as ‘Rebel’, in the best of breeds-style competition, which usually attracts members of the Royal Family.
Gabby, a member of the Haydock branch of the Pony Club for 10 years, said: “I can’t believe it, I’m just really made up.
“There will be hundreds of people watching and it’s always a great atmosphere.”
Her mother, Siobhan, added: “Just to get there is such an achievement and it’s because she works so hard.”
