Mixed fortunes at Parr Hall

FOUR Warrington fighters were defeated in championship amateur kickboxing contests at the Parr Hall on Saturday.
Warrington Kickboxing Studio light cruiserweight Ste Martin lost to Wigan’s Gavin Rogerson, while cruiserweight Paul Quayle lost to Altrincham’s Carlos Dait, middleweight Matt Guy lost to Leigh’s Danny Weir and light welterweight Daryl Ellis lost to Cornwall’s Matt Murt.
But there were eight wins for Warrington, with Andy Gough’s defeat of Matty Cooper particularly gaining roars from the crowd as he fought back from behind to finish 112-102 ahead.
Light cruiserweight Dave Corless-Smith defeated Leigh’s Mick Price, cruiserweight Ste Rimmer crushed Leigh’s Greg Tabner, heavyweight Dave Buck squeezed out Leigh’s Andy Morgan, welterweight Angela Atkinson got the better of Altrincham’s Agneiszka Drozdrik, light middleweight Danny Garth walloped Teeside’s Francis Monslave, light cruiserweight Joe Holman bashed Teeside’s Andrew Cairnes, and heavyweight John Emanu defeated Prestwich’s Arthur Mowak.
